Sounds like there's enough interest - and John, my oxy-acety skills boil down to "is it melted? no? keep going keep going keep going oh crud I blew through" so I for one would love it if you would be up for sharing. Is this enough to make it a Tuesday thing? If so, would the 23rd work for everyone who's expressed interest so far? (<a href="http://vancal.org">vancal.org</a> has nothing since last month.)<br>

Hi all. I visited VHS one time last June with my friend Matt, but I've
been a subscriber to the email list since. I believe we were there one
night where people brought Arduinos, back at the Victoria drive
location, and we were talking about our potato cannons. Now that I'm
done high school, I actually have some time on my hands. If the MIG
intro wasn't last night, I may want to drop by when it happens. Btw,

anyone's interested, I just finished an Oxy-Acetylene
welding/cutting/brazing intro at BCIT, so I could give a quick blurb
about it if people are up for it. (Maybe you haven't used an oxy-fuel
torch since high school?) I have a portable Oxy/MAPP torch setup that
can fit in my backpack, if anyone would like to play with fire. Not
trying to steal the spotlight from Dan, but I figure since most of us
are up for a welding night anyways...<br>

Michael Bean mentioned that some hackers were excited to see my<br>
welding rig. VanHackers are more than welcome to use it; if there's<br>
interest I could give a short introduction to welding some evening.<br>
I'm kind of oddly emotionally attached to the coveralls so maybe don't<br>
use those? And of course you break it you bought it, you break<br>
yourself you fix yourself, don't blind people with the arc, etc.<br>

There is flux core in the box (which can be used without co2/argon<br>
gas) but IT EMITS TOXIC FUMES. If you're going to use the flux core<br>
you must not do so inside where other people's health would be put at<br>
risk. Unfortunately my tank is at eatART right now, so welding with<br>
regular wire will have to wait until I can bring that back, unless<br>
someone else has 72/25 lying around. The wire isn't amazingly<br>
expensive but the gas can get pricey, so (once the tank's at 45W<br>
again) if anyone is going to weld up a big project it'd be nice if<br>
some gas got added to the pot.<br>
