Thanks for the responses guys..<br><br>It's a small (at the moment) dog - basset hound to be exact... it's dry food, just thought a way<br>to feed said dog at lunchtime automatically would help us for a few months... they range from<br>

Assuming you are using dry food, one option would be a round bowl with<br>
compartments covered by a lid with an opening. The lid would rotate<br>
exposing one compartment at a time. Could be done with an Arduino and<br>
a stepper motor.<br>

Not aware of any kits, but I've seen (overpriced) models in things<br>
like Sharper Image.<br>

Of course, if your pet can regulate its eating, the low-tech solution<br>
would be a feeder with a hopper, available at any pet store.<br>
