also worth thinking about could be multiple dsl lines teksavvy offers
mlppp so you can bond multiple dsl connections together(which could be
nice). also we only have 1 or 2 ips right now.. it is $10 a month for
6 IPs and $20 a month for 14 IPs. Im not sure if the state of VHS can
afford many new perks such as multiple DSL lines but if some members
want to see this happen I think its a dooable easy goal. Better to
spend your $ on vhs then some slow-ass vancouver colo. Also we need to
get our phone line reclassified from business to residence.. or coop or
something right now we are getting charged $80 a month for our dsl,
because the fuckers at telus say our building is business.

Mostly just need something with decent bandwidth and a static IP for the beta phase - until finding something $$$ / professional for an actual public release~ Heck - I have a MacMini waiting for a RAM upgrade to be the stand in dev server before I pump out the cash for a hefty server. It wouldnt take up much shelf space at all!

The disadvantage being it needs to run on a Mac =p Im planning on purchasing an Xserve soon - need someplace to stick it thats not going to cost an arm and a leg... every month! I only have 2 of each!!! =p
