Hi Hackers,
Some of you may remember a few months back seeing an email seeking help with a
student project intended to be entered in an Engineering Design Competition to
help persons living with ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease).......
I'm very pleased to report that, through the vanhackspace mailing list, our
project group was able to make contact with a skilled volunteer programmer and
go on to complete a very successful project.
If there is an interest, members of our project group would like to make a brief
and casual presentation of our project at an upcoming hackspace night. The
competition we entered our project in is open to entries from independent (non-
school-affiliated) individuals and groups, is for a very good cause helping
severely disabled persons, and offers substantial cash prizes for entries that
are judged to be an innovation helpful to persons with ALS. Some of you might
wish to enter a project in next year's competition, and we would like to tell
you how to go about it!
If the person or persons who schedule and organize event nights at the hackspace
would get back to me, I would like to set up a mutually convenient time to do a
little presentation and show off our project.
Thanks,
Stephen Tarrant
