[Vanhackspace] Open PCR

I found this kickstarter project aimed at building a low-cost PCR
machine. I'll be following this, and I highly recommend it to anyone
else interested in bio-hacking. For anyone not already a bio-geek, a
PCR machine lets you take DNA and make lots of copies of the sections
that most interest you. From there it's only a few steps to taking
over the world with an army of giant mutant sewer rats! Correction:
giant, GLOWING mutant sewer rats!

...Okay, maybe not. But a PCR machine is a pretty cool piece of
equipment, and a key component to many, many biological experiments.
Like finding out if you're carrying genes for weird diseases. Or
finding out if you and your partner are actually long lost cousins.

Oh, and if you donate $512, they'll send you all the components you
need to build your own arduino-powered openPCR machine. Awesome.
