To be fair, I think Nokia screwed a lot on that platform. [1] But you 
can use it with your fingers, like the N800 and N810[2], even though the 
UI itself is very confused.

But from the hackability (software or hardware) point of view it still 
ahead of most the other device on the market. So it is worth mentioning. 
I wouldn't recommend the N900 to a regular person otherwise.

Yes it only does EDGE on Rogers. (and never pretended otherwise)

It does work on WIND. Even WIND said so, despite them not selling it.

[1] I have a N770 and N800. Never got the N810 because Nokia didn't want 
to sell it to Canadians thru the developer program.
[2] Except that the screen being beveled down, you'd better have small 
pointy fingers to reach the corners. It is more annoying on the N800 
that the N810, but still.
