[Vanhackspace] CBC - The Current - hackers at work

Hey

I agree with a lot of the sentiments, but based on the original
write-up, I'm not certain that's what they're looking for. The point is
that we need someone who wants to deal with the mainstream media. That
is, someone who issues with how VHS interacts with the outside world.

I don't think it's likely that we're going to be interviewed by Anne
Marie Tremonte, and I think it's more likely that we're going to be
tacked on as a part of a soft-ball piece while they grill Harper on
something. I've been on CBC before regarding tech stuff, and they'll
spin it for whatever their ends are. If they see a story there, they'll
pursue it. CBC isn't crazy like going on the Christy Clarke Show (ask
Boris about that one), but I don't think that CBC is out to do a hachet
job either.

To be honest, this sounds like they're looking for Web 2.0 Hype/Founders
at Work shit. "Are you a Cyber Guru who runs a Dot-Com? What crazy
things are you working on that make you tons of money? How did you find
your niche??"

This sounds more like a piece for my work than a VHS media piece, since
we're not really "Hackers at work".

That's my thoughts after reading this.
