I was at the space the night he dropped in. I think calling him an ass
and douchbag is not fair. He seemed like a nice guy, although I'll let
pretensious slide.
I think I can sum up the difference between his goal and ours. VHS is
about the people and community of hackers in Vancouver and the world.
We can exist as a group without a physical space or infrastructure. If
a fire burned down 45w there would still be a VHS. We are also a flat
and open group. Although I question how open we are when people use
our open list to slag people they've never met.
His vision is about a physical space which sounds like a for profit
physical space similar to Workspace but with tools. Although we share
some similar goals and vocabulary I think our ideals set us apart as
something distinct and special.
