TV-B-GONE Kit Night

Come down to VHS and build your own weapon against mass distraction! We will
be building the legendary TVBGone
<http://www.ladyada.net/make/tvbgone/> by Mitch
Altman <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mitch_Altman>, and based on the design
of Limor Fried (Lady Ada <http://www.ladyada.net/bio/index.html>).  This
small device makes a great companion for trips to the mall at Christmas. In
fact, it also makes a great gift! Make one for friends or give the packaged
kit! The new version 1.2 works on almost all TVs, and up to 150ft away!

This event will be an experiment in collaborative education, focusing on the
process of learning from others and passing that information on. There will
be several experienced solderers there to show you the ropes. This kit is a
great introduction to soldering, and makes an interesting project for
beginners and experts. As always, first-timers are strongly encouraged to
attend, as these nights are great introductions to VHS! If you haven't been
in a while, come get reacquainted!


Kits: $20
Solder and irons will be provided, please bring any extra

Laptops are suggested if you wish to refer to the online
tutorials<http://www.ladyada.net/make/tvbgone/solder.html>for the
build.
