I'm sure everyone has their favourite soldering iron, and you can't go
wrong with a Weller or Hakko station.  I would recommend having a look
at getting an Aoyue station if you're on a budget and need temp
control.  They make stations that are very cheap and with decent
quality, and some of their stations can accept Hakko tips.  I found
the list of bestselling soldering equipment on Amazon to be a good
starting point [1].
