I'm in favour (I happen to need some laser cutting to make a tiny
enclosure).

I know of one other unit, and that's in the research labs at SFU Surrey.
I don't know what make/model, but I do know that if you send it a simple
PDF/EPS of outlines, it will cut right through your material. There's
supposed to be a way to do partial depth, but nobody knows how.

It does need ventilation to outside, and you can't cut certain types of
plastic, due to the released fumes corroding the lense mechanisms.
