Perhaps it's worth asking if design, work and materials can be counted
as rent in kind. I believe there's at least one person out there with
electrical equipment well suited to the task, and laying it out could
be a fun optimization problem. It would mean that people who are
involved now get some reward for being founders, since there'd be
little point in designing it for any other group. If it's too much
labour, hiring a couple of people to help would economically be
equivalent to having paid rent directly. And there'd be no point in
paying rent for the amount of time that outside contractors would
quote as a cap on doing it. Since the leasers wouldn't actually be
receiving money, perhaps they would be saving tax on it, too?
