[Vanhackspace] VHS Sound Night - January 20, 2009

VHS is hosting another Sound Night, Tuesday January 20th, 2009 at The

This week we are going to build the Atari Punk Console.

The Atari Punk Console is fun to build and is a great first project if
you are new to soldering or reading schematics. We have some of the
parts already at The Hackery. The remainder of the parts I'm going to
grab this weekend. I'm going to pick up enough to make 10 kits. It
should work out to about $5 per person to cover the cost of parts. So
please bring money or something cool to trade. :)

You will need to bring a housing of some sort. I was going to get
little project boxes but that would increase the cost. Plus, it will
be way cooler to mount it in something more unique anyway. It should
be at least as big as a can of pop. You can pick something smaller,
but it may be harder to get everything inside. If you have something
that already has a speaker inside you can gut it and re-use the
speaker. Something made of plastic is a good choice, that way it's
easy to use the dremel to mount controls.

We are going to build the circuit with an output jack, so a small pair
of computer speakers would be good to have. If you bring a housing
with a speaker in it you won't need them.

If you have a soldering iron, or a dremel please bring them too.
