[Vanhackspace] Re-interest in summertime/late-springtime hackspace talks?

Hey folks,

Two months ago, I threw around the idea of a hacker con in Vancouver.
While it would be neat and all to do that, I kind of felt that the
BazCamp approach we had worked rather well--it provided us with a nice
place for all of us to demonstrate our abilities and it was also a
really cool way to meet interesting people.

I'd like to revisit this formula again sometime between mid-April and
early-July. Perhaps with a 4-6 month leadtime, we can get stronger
talks, perhaps a workshop or two, and maybe space it over two days--say
a bit of talks on Friday evening and then the rest on Saturday. I am not
sure if I want to call it a "hacker con" though, but perhaps something
loosely or completely based on BazCamp.

This is not to replace BazCamp, but to compliment it as its semi-year
brother. We could make BazCamp our fall/winter event and then $EVENT our
spring/summer one.

I am not looking for a lot of action on this now, but it would be fun to
at least get some ideas thrown around on perhaps what didn't work well
with BazCamp and then use it to work on this even and to also improve
BazCamp for 2010.
