[Vanhackspace] digital refrigerator control?

I wonder whether some of the Arduino/PID coffee machine hacks would
apply here, basically replacing a cheap thermostat with a PID
controller and digital temperature sensor. The coffee hacks are about
using a solid state relay to quickly turn off and on a boiler (rather
than heating in long heat, wait, heat, cycles that a thermostat
creates), potentially the same thing could be tuned for a fridge
motor? See http://www.arduino.cc/playground/Main/CoffeeTronics for
detail.

Pure speculation btw, i'm a total newb to all this.
