Boy do we have the opportunity for you.

If you're a member that wants some experience with linux
administration, we need your help. I know we have lots of people that
can do this really easily but are tight on time, so I thought to first
open it up to people that want to learn from the exercise.

We currently have our main vhs mailing list set up on Joe's dreamhost
account. This is less than ideal for a variety of reasons. Here's
what I think needs to happen:

1) We host our own email server
2) We host our own mailing lists

I don't _really_ care how these are done, so long as it gets done in a
sustainable/thrive-able way, but here's my thoughts in more detail:

1) Our own email server

* make info at hackspace.ca a mail alias for the existing vhs mailing list
** (This is an interm step, but at least it's better than /dev/null)

* Allow delivery to user accounts from democracy
** eg: lukec at vancouver.hackspace.ca -> lukec at democracy

* Quick security and functionality audit
** make sure we're not an open relay
** make sure we have some simple blacklist or antispam system
** make sure we are using good security practices

2) Our own mailing lists

* Migrate existing mailing list + archives to democracy

* Create a new members at vancouver.hackspace.ca mailing list and add all
existing members

I'm sure folks in #vhs can help with implementation details. Key
people: spiri (for firewall & dns changes), Joe (existing mailing
list)

Thanks,
Luke
