Hey
The day has come where the media has found out about VHS. Luckily, I'm able
to talk to them before they end up talking to other people. However, we
should decide how we want to talk about this. I'm thinking that we should
just talk about the Hackerspace Concept, say that we have open events, and
talk about the whole Maker/DIY scene without getting into specifics.
Some people suggested that media should not be allowed in the VHS Tuesday
meetings. How do people feel about that rule? I'm fine with documenting
everything, but I really would like it if we were the ones doing the
documenting.

Hi Joe,
Thanks for getting back to me so quickly. I'm writing a feature for the
Georgia Straight's technology section and think your hackerspace and its
members would make a really great story. I found VHS's wiki this morning and
sold my editor on the concept. I would love to meet with you sometime this
week to get some background on VHS as well as the hacking and hacking
activist communities in Vancouver. Then perhaps you can introduce me to a
few of the members? My schedule is pretty open, and I'm located in
Kitsilano but can meet anywhere in the city that's convenient for you. Let
me know what day/time might work.
My cell is (604) 812-7168 and you can e-mail me to set something up. I'm
really looking forward to it.
Karen

Hey
I'm e-mailing you regarding a comment on my blog. Currently we're looking
at starting a hackerspace similar to what is being setup in many other
cities, modelling it after places like HacDC in Washington, DC, ASCII in the
Netherlands and the CCC hackerspaces in Germany. If you want to talk about
VHS, the various Vancouver Hacking Scenes, or anything else that's going
down with hacking and activism in the city, let me know.
