[Vanhackspace] Sugest where to get metal / plastic locally

Yeah ... thats the machine I got ... the rebranded Sieg X2.

I had stumbled across a few links while looking for info on converting the
mill to CNC. I may actually order the kit from CNC fusion
http://cncfusion.com/minimill1.html . I was kinda wondering how I would hook
up the Z axis and it looks like their solution will save me a few hours so I
think its worth it. Its too bad our dollar is tanking relative to the US.

I ordered the 400 oz-in stepper kit from Probotix
http://www.probotix.com/index.php?view=product&path=23&product_id=45 ... I
think they should do the trick. I was going to hook up the 4th stepper to a
rotary table something like
http://busybeetools.ca/cgi-bin/picture10?&NETID=0000051028082086095&NTITEM=B061

Thanks for directing me to Rustan Metals. Thats fairly close to my office so
I should be able to go by during lunch to check it out.

Emmanuel, please keep me up-to-date with your progress. I'm sure getting the
software dialed is going to hold its own challenges.

I'm really looking forward to the day when I can make my first part.

Thanks for your help.

- James
