Or chips that completely fail to implement the iSerialNumber to the
specifications at all.

On the same lines, you could use per-user OTP data on USB keys (see how
pam_usb works), or just look at cheap reader concepts.

Just as I haven't seen mention of it here, has anybody looked into the
OpenPCD project stuff? I've got their OpenBeacon/Sputnik gear, but not
the baseline OpenPCD reader or the OpenPICC hardware emulator (I'm
waiting for more PCBs to be made by them before I order one).

(Yes, I know of the MIFARE hacks, that's one of the other reasons I want
to buy the reader and OpenPICC hardware).
